Roman Tam & Jenny Tseng: Legend of Condor Heroes 1983 English+Yale.Rewatch Value 9.5 I watched this drama when I was very young. This 1983 version is considered by many to be a classic television adaptation of the novel and features the breakthrough role of Barbara Yung, who played Huang Rong.the condor-heroes-1983 - undefined, undefined, undefined and many more movies and. The 59 episodes long series is divided into three parts. It was first broadcast on TVB Jade in Hong Kong in 1983. The Legend of the Condor Heroes is a Hong Kong television series adapted from Louis Chas novel of the same title. But I have no time bc if anyone can relate: too many other dramas to watch lol. I would honestly want to watch this again so bad! (Even tho I usually don't rewatch dramas). But idk why nowadays they don't or CANT make it as good as b4, like this. I honestly LOVEEEEE action dramas especially the ones with special powers and sht. It is just so good! Actors, music, story everything is amazing! Basically my whole family is a fan of this drama I haven't heard anyone say this is bad. No offence but fighting and action dramas nowadays is NOTHING compared to how good this drama was.
Legend Of The Condor Heroes 1983 Series Is DividedIt wasn't as good as this one tho. The new versions of this drama has came out this year "legend of the condor heroes 2017". But if I have time like 36 hours a day I would definitely watch this again. But the cast, music, and acting was pretty awesome and stands the test of time. It didn't follow the novel closely and they added plenty of extra bits. 38 years on, many people will consider this series a classic still. Item Number: S0.216351 You are always the best in the world (Chinese Title:,is the ending song from a Chinese costume drama(in ancient style) called'The Legend of the Condor Heroes' Rewatch Value 10 This series was made in 1982 and is 59 episodes long. Anyways.if anyone wants a GOOD ACTION DRAMA.definitely try this one out.Zhou Botong is a fictional character in the wuxia novels The Legend of the Condor Heroes and The Return of the Condor Heroes by Jin Yong.A member of the Quanzhen Sect, he is highly-skilled in martial arts, having been trained by his senior, Wang Chongyang, the sects founder.Although he is already in his old age, he is still known for behaving childishly and constantly seeking fun, hence he is. So they had to rely on superior acting and wonderful story telling to draw the audience in. There's no special effects or breath taking views in the 1980's dramas. The supporting cast was also fantastic. To this day, I can recite the themesong in both Cantonese and Vietnamese! The plot/storyline is the same as other LOCH, but the acting and the cast is SUPERB here. Growing up in the 90's, my mom would buy these box-sets that were dubbed into Vietnamese. There's always something lacking in the remakes I found.Rewatch Value 10 This is one of the first dramas I have EVER watched. So I regularly pull it out and watch now and again. I believe that many of the actors back in the famous HK day dramas, were required to learn some type of martial arts, so the the martial arts you see is on point. To this day, this will always be my favorite drama. If you can get past the low-quality (c'mon we have HD TVs now), and the older quality CGI, this is a great version of LOCH.Besides the acting the martial arts in here is amazing. I also believe the chemistry between our leads were so well acted out. I didn't know the genre was actually called wuxia). My dad began renting a lot of wuxia series from our local video rental store (we referred to it as kung fu series or kung fu dramas. It was considered a luxury item back then since not many people could afford even a color television let alone a VHS player. I was in primary school when my dad bought a VHS player. With no knowledge of Chinese literature or even culture.I was introduced to wuxia world in the early 80's. Keep in mind that this review is based on my anecdotal experience alone. Suddenly I had a hankering to watch wuxia series again about 5 years ago., what with YouTube, and other streaming services, And the series that came to my mind was Legend of the Condor Heroes 1983. Yup, it was such a long gap, over 30 years. Then I lost touch with this genre when I was in middle school until about 4 or 5 years ago due to studies, work, etc. Long story short, one thing for sure, I was hooked! I watched so many that I can't remember most of them. It was marvelous! So let's talk about this version of LOCH. When I re-watched 5 years ago, I got to hear the actors' real voices and language. It was on VHS and was dubbed in English with subtitle in my language. I had watched it more than once. When I watched it for the first time in early 80's. As the only daughter of Eastern Heretic, she certainly inherits her father's eccentricity. She brought so much joy to the role. It's important to note that I haven't read the book since it's in Chinese so my idea of what Huang Rong should be like is just from LOCH 83. And Barbara Yung's interpretation of Huang Rong is impeccable. So let's start with what I love (which is plenty!) and end what I don't (which is almost none).CASTING: I think the actors who played main roles and supporting roles did an amazing job. It's iconic, the actors, the story, the music are nearly irreplaceable. I can't help comparing other actresses who played Huang Rong in the later adaptations with hers.Felix Wong's Guo Jing is also still my favorite until now. In my opinion, no one has pulled off the role of Huang Rong as brilliantly as Barbara. Such a mesmerizing performance. So hilarious! He and Barbara are some of the reasons why I keep coming back and watch this series. I love his interactions with his teacher Hong Qigong and Zhou Botong. But he can be funny too sometimes. His Hong Qigong is still my favorite to this date.KUNG FU choreography: It was amazing. And I'm really happy that the actor (Lau Dan) who played Hong Qigong did a great job. His humor and wit never stop to spark even when he nearly loses his life. Someone who is (in my opinion) the wisest, the calmest, peaceful, and has a great sense of humor. Is fortnite availabe for mac osxOf course later on I knew that they were not. Love it!! I believed that they were actual martial artists. But I bet they had trained very hard to execute awesome movements. Also I get to observe each important character and their tribulations.MUSIC: The music is amazing. Instead, they make the story more enjoyable and entertaining, not boring and muddled. But I think the subplots don't affect the main plot. Mu Nianci wears modest and simple. Surely she has the wealth. After all, Huang Rong is the daughter of one of the Five Greats, upper class. For example, Huang Rong wears clothes that looked more costly than Mu Nianci. Even after 30 years of not having watched it, I still remembered it vividly.COSTUME: The costume was great! For movies or TV series in the 80's I thought that the costume worn by each character speak about the personalities of each character. In short, the music is iconic. Now I can see that these scenes were most likely shot in a studio. When I was a child, I certainly couldn't tell where they had shot the scenes. It shows that great consideration was put into making these outfits. The setting and location. Great story line, amazing performance by the actors, great kung fu choreography, and memorable music. Plus the budget and resources were probably limited. All in all, LOCH 83 has always been my standard of what a great wuxia series should be or must be. Technology wise for example, it wasn't like today with CGI and stuff.
